Mika (米卡)

Mika is a sweet, calm and impossibly well-mannered dog. He was adopted and returned in Shanghai before finding his way to the Netherlands. Now, he is our most important family member and friend.

Rescue story

Mika was adopted and returned in Shanghai before later coming to the Netherlands, where he found his current home.

Adopted in Almere, Netherlands, 2023

The moment we met Mika at his foster home, we were quite shocked; we did not know dogs could be this calm. He was curled up on the sofa like a cat, a little cautious, but when he came over to lick our hands he was so gentle. We took him to the beach that day and watched him sprint across the sand like crazy, and that was it. We looked at each other and just knew: he was coming home with us. Neither of us had owned a dog before, so those first days were nerve-racking. But Mika was basically a perfect dog from day one, and he picked up new skills incredibly fast. He is living his best life in the Netherlands now, with plenty of grass to run on, dog friends and all the dried fish treats he likes. We are so grateful he came into our lives. We will love him forever.
